Some Soviet Stationは、アメリカ・ジョージア州アトランタ出身のエモ・ハードコア／マスロック・バンド。活動期間は1998年から2001年までと短く、このセルフタイトルのアルバムが唯一リリース。この作品のオリジナルは、2000年にMood Swing RecordsからCDのみでリリースされていたが、今回、Expert Work Recordsより待望のレコードが限定でリリースされることとなった。当時のレコーディングは、Bob Weston（Shellac）が担当している。そして今回のマスタリングは、レコード用として定番のCarl Saffとなっている。
メンバーは、The Kossabone RedやRipcordの元メンバーが参加しており、解散後はPaper Lions、Maserati、Vincas、Gentleman Jesse、Carbonas、The Purkinje Shift、Copa Vanceなどのバンドで活動を続けている。
バンドは、At The Price Of The UnionとのSplit7インチのリリース後に、このセルフタイトルのアルバムをリリース。勢いを感じた00年当初のエモ・マス＋DCスタイルという、当時のDrive Like Jehu、Hot Snakes、Bluetip、At The Drive Inと引き合いされても素晴らしいバンドであった。激しさとグルーヴのあるサウンドが炸裂し、ドラムが力強く、ギターが疾走する、Dischord系バンドを彷彿とさせるシャウトスタイル。
