遂に、5年の歳月を経て“gates”が活動再開！　16年にリリースしたセカンドアルバム「Parallel Lives」をリリースしてから目立った活動無く各メンバーの生活環境も変わり、昨年から再びバンドを再開。（19年の年末に1度だけライブを行っている。）今回のリリースの「Here and Now」は、6曲入りのEPとして、（CDバージョンのみデモトラックを含む8曲。）原点回帰を裏付ける初期にリリースした2枚のEP「The Sun Will Rise And Lead Me Home」と「You Are All You Have Left To Fear」の3部作的に位置づけることもできるが、そこは5年の歳月で、バンドとしての楽曲もアップデートされいる。彼らの特徴でもある3本のギターをフィードバックノイズ、クリントーン、メロディーとレイヤーごとに重ねた音の厚みと重圧感のあるベースとドラムのリズム、そしてKevid Dyeの力強いエモーショナルなボーカリゼーション、この5人のメンバーで構成されて唯一無二のサウンドが生まれる。先行でリリースされたデジタルシングル「Where To Begin」は、Kevinのエンジニアとしての綿密な音の構成で、緩やかなメロディー中に各パートのアレンジにも拘りを感じられgatesならでは、安定した楽曲センスが光る。EPをリリース後、11月の約2週間でTWIABP&IANLATDのサポートとしてツアーに同行する予定。

発売は、10月28日頃になります。
