Brief Candlesという、とても魅力的なバンドのレコードを遂に入荷することが出来ました。彼らは2000年初頭からMilwaukeeを活動拠点とするインディーバンドであり、長年に渡り地道な活動で定期的に音源をリリースしています。しかし、彼らは90年代からのアンダーグランドシーンで、ノイジーな音とシューゲイズに魅了された時代から始まっている。面白いことに、当時のEMO全盛期にもリンクする形で、かシューゲイズとして認知されていたようだ。彼らは、独特なスタイルで音楽的なカテゴライズが非常に難しい。その音楽は、シューゲイザーの一括りでなく、ポストパンク、クラウトロックのグルーヴ、90年代のオルタナ・インディー、ニューウェーブ、サイケデリックの要素も感じられる。そのバンド本来が持つ、オリジナリティが発揮されており、今回の作品の「Unfinished Nature」でもそれが引き継がれている。
